How long does it last and how many sessions are needed?
The treatment lasts depending on the amount of hair and the number of areas. Small areas such as underarms and mustache treatment is done in 10 minutes. A large area such as full legs, back or chest can take up to 1 hour.
Sessions will last depending on the color of the hair and your skin as well as how strong the hair is. Laser hair removal for women is more effective than for men regardless of the type of laser.
The 3-year bonds allow us to perform, as a general rule, enough sessions to remove the hair permanently. However, you can request information or advice and we will indicate the approximate number of sessions depending on the area, its extension and type of hair.

How does the laser work to remove hair permanently?
All types of lasers used in laser hair removal treatments work by melanin. Melanin is the natural substance that creates the pigment in the body found in both skin and hair. The energy projected by the laser is concentrated in the melanin, in the dark hair, to penetrate to the root and seal the capillary vessel where the hair is born. In this way the hair does not grow back, making the treatment definitive.
Is Laser Depilation painful?
During the treatment the patient may feel a slight sensation of discomfort. The Alexandrite laser has a DCD cooling system that is applied when projecting the laser to produce an anesthetic effect and make the treatment more comfortable. While the Diode laser has a continuous cooling to -3 ºC, so it is less uncomfortable.
Can these types of lasers be applied to tanned skin?
The Alexandrite laser works with a higher melanin absorption which makes it impossible to treat darker skins. It is focused on lighter skins. However in Estética Ochoa we offer the Diode laser, which is not so aggressive so it can be performed on dark or tanned skin and acts by heat accumulation, using the SHR scanning mode.
Previously a previous study will always be performed with dermatologists who will determine if the skin tone is ideal to perform the treatment with maximum safety. This study is free of charge for the patient.
Why is it important the previous study and the supervision of the treatment with Dermatologists?
According to current regulations, all Type 4 lasers, which include Alexandrite and Diode, must be supervised by physicians. The dermatologist is the most appropriate specialist to perform it.
What Precautions should you take if you wish to undergo Laser Hair Removal?
Avoid the sun after the treatment. Avoid traditional hair removal 1 week before the treatment start date. Once the treatment has been authorized by the doctor in the preliminary study, we will inform you about everything necessary to perform the treatment in a safe way for your skin.
